THE PERSHORE High School year eight swimming team finished joint first with Bredon Hill Middle School at the SWSSA District Swimming Gala at Evesham Leisure Centre last Thursday.
There was plenty to celebrate for the Pershore team as Chris Vizard broke the year eight boys’ front crawl record with a time of 14.74 and Simon Sweatman broke the backstroke record in a time of 15.46.
To top off a great gala, the boys’ relay team smashed the district relay record by three seconds, setting a new best time of 1.02.43.
When the totals of each swimmer were calculated, the PHS team finished in joint first place alongside Bredon Hill Middle School.
