Williams at the double as Cropthorne reach last eight

CROPTHORNE reached the last eight of the Bluck Cup with a tense 3-2 victory over Ashton 88 in which Leon Williams’ double put Cropthorne in command.

Aron Letterese scored another for the hosts but goals from Will Stevens and Ben Hutchins brought Ashton back into the tie and ensured a nervy finale for Cropthorne.

Jamie Haines’ treble led Stour Excelsior to a 3-1 victory at Harvington Harriers for whom Chris Rogers scored and also through are Drakes Broughton Rangers who defeated Ashton 88 Reserves 5-1.

Sam Freeman (2), Mark Haynes, Charlie Barrett and Steve Ward scored for Rangers. Jack Fisher was the Ashton scorer.




Holders New Inn Pershore needed penalties against Vale United to progress into the Mick Godwin Cup second round after the teams shared four goals. Harry Wilcox and James Moreton scored for New Inn and Joshua Grice and Chris Ainsworth netted for Vale.

Fladbury dispatched Bengeworth 7-0 through goals from Matt Taylor (3), Harry Bermingham, Cameron Dickenson, Oliver Burman and Cavan Jason-Ryan.


Jake Hall, Stuart Davis and Alex Trinder scored for Offenham Rovers in their 3-0 win over Titans and Bredon progressed with an excellent 6-3 victory at Dragons with goals from Jack England (2), Matt Tarling (2), Scott Jordan and James Driscoll. Dragons’ goals came from Alex Lane (2) and Dan Palmer.

Stour Excelsior Reserves defeated Pebworth on penalties after a 1-1 draw in which Paul Jewett was on the mark for Stour and Sam Nicholls likewise for the visitors.

Bretforton Old Boys reached the last four of the PURR Home Services Knockout Cup but were made to work hard at second division side TDMS Evesham.

A 3-1 win arrived courtesy of goals from Sam Beddoes (2) and Tom Leonard, with Harry Middleton the scorer for TDMS.

In Evesham Sunday League Division One, Bretforton Sports Club boosted their title hopes with a comfortable 6-1 win at Alderton through goals from Ryan Cantrill (3), Will Gayton (2) and Ciaran Gilbert. Dan Bowles was the Alderton scorer.

Inkberrow produced an excellent performance to win 7-1 against TDMS Harvington as Alex Bullock bagged five and Greg Guy and Harry Coughlin also netted. Luke Woodfield scored for the visitors.

Sam Goodhall and Connor Sherry scored for Strawberry Field United in their 2-0 success against Stratford HGC to strengthen their promotion push in Division Two.
