Liam Moakes 10th Oct, 2018

THE ANNUAL Whitehouse Cups competition was held at Evesham Golf Club on Sunday when an enthusiastic and large turnout of 18 mixed pairs took to the fairways in ideal conditions.

The Foursomes Medal format proved very exacting and resulted in a very close group of top scores. Eventual winners were Richard Curnock and Penny Osborne with a nett score of 73.5, runners-up were John Stanley and Conryn Abbott with 74 and third were Doug Sharp and Dinah Wood with 74.5.

TWENTY-EIGHT EGC ladies teamed up in pairs to compete in the prestigious Daily Mail Foursomes national competition.

The weather was kind, helping to bring in some very high scores, and the winning pair were Conryn Abbott and Audrey Tomkins with a nett 76.5 who will now go forward to the next round.

Runners-up with nett 81.5 were Marlene Billings and Lesley Curnock.

ON A BEAUTIFUL autumnal day with many leaves scattered under the trees, EGC ladies contested an October Medal in pairs.

Leading results: Division One – Marlene Billings, nett 73; Ruth Masters, nett 77; Division Two – Julie Winter, nett 78; Carolyn Washbourne, nett 79; Division Three – Margaret Roberts, nett 72; Dee Fowkes, nett 77.
