BROADWAY Golf Club ladies’ captain Irene Hawkes and her vice-captain Frances Friend were treated to a glorious winter’s morning for their annual captain versus vice-captain contest.
Forty-eight ladies had been drawn into pairs to compete in the better ball match and all were keen to do their best to support their team.
The course played extraordinarily well, providing ladies with conditions for some superb golf. All matches were extremely tight and players fought hard to the end in pursuit of winning points for their team.
The lady captain’s side emerged 15-9 victors to clinch the 2019 title.
