EVESHAM head into Saturday’s visit of Barkers Butts sitting six points above the bottom two in Midlands Two West (South) after a 41-22 defeat at mid-table Silhillians.
The Avonsiders were made to pay for a ponderous start in which they conceded five tries in the first half to trail the Solihull side 31-8 at half-time.
Evesham did rally in the second half and reduced their arrears to 31-22 thanks to tries from Josh Perry and Richard Stovell (2) and two conversions and a penalty from Tom Williams.
However, the hosts scored two further tries to seal victory and leave Evesham ninth in the table.
