Rovers stun reigning champions Old Boys

A SUPERB second half performance enabled Offenham Rovers to come from behind and inflict a first defeat of the season on Evesham Sunday League champions Bretforton Old Boys.

Old Boys had scored through Luis Sone, James Stride and Manpreet Singh but goals from Jake Hall (2), Stuart Davis, David Waters, Ben Higgins and James Cresswell earned Rovers a famous 6-3 victory.

Bretforton Sports Club closed the gap at the top of Division One by defeating Mickleton Rangers 6-2 with goals from Ben Johns (2), George Kirby (2), Ciaran Gilbert and Andrew Griffiths. Rangers’ goals came from Joe Godson and David Moore.

Goals from Luke Woodfield (4), Jack Philpott and Ryan Attwood secured TDMS Harvington three valuable points as New Inn Pershore were beaten 6-2.




Ashton 88 continue to set the pace in Division Two following a 2-1 victory at Drakes Broughton Rangers thanks to goals from Matthew Ingle and Ben Hutchings. Matt Greenwood scored for Rangers.

Fladbury travelled to Stratford HGC and returned with the points after a 4-2 success in which Jake Jordan (2), Cameron Dickenson and Max Ferriday scored for Fladbury and Nick Dyde and Harvey Moon netted for Stratford HGC.


In Division Three, Ashton 88 Reserves were comfortable 9-0 winners over Titans through goals from Graham Begley (3), Lewis Carter (3), Bruno Cardoso, George Richens and Jake Brotherton.

Holders Evesham WMC were knocked out of the PURR Home Services Knockout Cup by third division side Alderman United who won 4-3 as Jake Petitt (2), Ben Driscoll and Nicholas Hill scored for the Tewkesbury side. Tom Barber, Elliott Grady and Matt Irons were on target for the Workies.

Second division side Stour Excelsior knocked first division outfit Broadway United out of the Mick Godwin Cup with a 4-2 win on a heavy pitch.

Goals from Jamie Vadasz, Joshi Gibbs, Ed Caswell and Jamie Shurmer put the Shipston side through despite Will Aspey and Louie Sutton scoring for Broadway.

Cropthorne progressed with a 4-0 win at Harvington Harriers through goals from Tom Barton, Neil Taylor, Leon Williams and Kyle Ballard.
