EVESHAM are closing in on promotion after Saturday’s crushing 73-3 home win over Old Wheatleyans was coupled with defeat for rivals Ledbury.
The Herefordshire side suffered a second successive loss as they went down 20-15 at home to Old Leamingtonians, leaving second placed Evesham with a five-point advantage over third placed Ledbury with two matches remaining.
Evesham know a bonus point victory at Rugby St Andrews on Saturday will clinch runners-up spot and promotion, regardless of the outcome of Ledbury’s match at Old Wheatleyans.
