PERSHORE continued their good form with a comprehensive victory over their visitors from Birmingham on Saturday.

Kings Norton started the brighter and went 7-0 up at Piddle Park after ten minutes before Pershore got a grip on the game.

Playing into a stiff breeze, the hosts kept the ball for long periods and hard work forced the visitors to dig deep in defence.

The effort paid off and tries from Damien May, Martin Hope and Brian Ranns gave the home team rewards for their efforts and a 17-7 half-time lead.

The second half saw the game open up and the Pershore forwards produced plenty of good clean ball, allowing the backs to cause real problems.

George Meadows, Dave Oliver and Cameron Bond all made life hard for Kings Norton by mixing up kicking, hard running and attacking out wide.

The visitors kept going and got a deserved try, but further tries from Andy Jenkinson (2), Bond, Oliver and Dan Mayfield set Pershore on the road to a clear victory, with May topping a great afternoon for the front row by touching down twice more for a fine hat-trick.

Pershore travel to Birmingham Civil Service on Saturday, looking to continue their climb up the table, whilst the 2nd XV visit Upton for a rearranged Merit Table clash.
