PROMOTION-CHASING Kenilworth proved too strong for a spirited and youthful Evesham side on Saturday.
The hosts secured a 21-7 Midlands Two West (South) victory but were pushed all the way by the Avonsiders who persevered well in wet and blustery conditions.
The Warwickshire side led 21-0 at the break, but the visitors rallied well to win the second half 7-0 with a try from Ash Icke, converted by Andy Robinson.
Evesham – with three wins and three defeats to their name from six league matches – are eighth in the table heading into Saturday’s visit of leaders Kidderminster who boast a 100 per cent record.
