EVESHAM came within a whisker of ending the 100 per cent record of Midlands Two West (South) leaders Droitwich, only for a last-gasp try to break home hearts on Saturday.
The Vale side were edged out 24-23 at Albert Road and had to settle for a losing bonus point despite a sterling effort against a Spa side who have now won all seven league games on the back of last season’s promotion alongside Evesham, during which Droitwich won every league game.
Fifth placed Evesham return to league action at Coventry outfit Earlsdon – a place and seven points better off – on November 25.
