EVESHAM United achieved promotion from the Southern League Division One South following a 1-0 victory against local rivals Malvern Town in the play-off final.

A second-half goal from Levi Steele secured promotion for the Robins at the Spiers and Hartwell Stadium.

Mike Ford’s side will play at Step Three for the first time in 13 years next season.

The play-off final took place in front of a club-record 2,949 spectators – blitzing the club’s previous best attendance.

Evesham achieved promotion via the play-offs at the fifth attempt after previously losing at the semi-final stage on four occasions.

And next season will be just the club’s sixth campaign in their history at Step Three

It will also be the first time the club have played at Step Three since moving into their new stadium at the start of the 2012/13 season.
