Holders Workies into KO Cup quarters

HOLDERS Evesham WMC reached the last eight of the Evesham Mechanical Services KO Cup with a comfortable 5-1 win over third tier Dragons in which Elliott Grady, Sam Penfold, Shane Turley, Nick Bennett and Sean Cooke scored for the Workies. Adam Hinchcliffe netted for Dragons.

Bretforton Old Boys progressed 9-3 at Ashton 88 Reserves, with Jamie Clarke (4), Sam Beddoes (3), Dan Trotman and Manprit Singh scoring for Old Boys.

Bretforton Sports Club hit four without reply against Fortis through Ciaran Gilbert (2), Ryan Cantrill and Ben Johns and Inkberrow overcame Offenham Rovers 5-3 in an excellent tie.

Alex Bullock (2), Kieron Sheen, Tom Emblem and Alex Griffiths scored for Inkberrow and Jake Hall, Stuart Davis and Charlie Szymnaszi struck for Rovers.




Last season’s finalists Strawberry Field United were knocked out 3-2 at TDMS Evesham for whom Tom Dixon (2) and Owen Horne scored for the home team, with Ashton Welland and Keiran Downey on the mark for the visitors.

Division One side Broadway United recorded a much-needed 4-1 league win over struggling New Inn Pershore thanks to goals from Will Aspey, Brandon Parker, Charlie Stock and Harrison Parker, whilst Mickleton Rangers defeated Alderton 6-2 with goals from Dan Moore (2), Tom Ford, Ash Spencer, Ed Cruttwell and Joe Godson. Matt Greaves scored twice for Alderton.


In Division Two, pace-setters Ashton 88 were held 1-1 at Fladbury as Max Ferriday scored for Fladbury and Jordan Richardson netted for Ashton.

Drakes Broughton Rangers overcame Cropthorne 2-1 with goals from Matt Greenwood and Greg Phillips, with Aron Letterese scoring for Cropthorne.

Stratford HGC won 8-4 at Pebworth despite a hat-trick from Tom Benfield for the home team. George Spilsbury bagged three goals for the visitors.

Harvington Harriers continued their decent start in Division Three by winning 5-2 at Bredon where Nathan Lewis (2), Chris Rogers, Finley Fowles and Johnny Robinson scored for Harriers and Dan McGuigan and Jack Davies struck for Bredon.

Goals from Paul Law (3), Josh Grice and Chris Ainsworth helped Vale United defeat Bengeworth 5-1.

Alderman United and TDMS Harvington progressed in the Bromsgrove Junior Charity Cup with 6-4 and 2-1 first round wins over Beoley Village and Crown Internazionale respectively, but both Stour Excelsior teams were knocked out as Stour Excelsior were beaten 8-0 by visitors Catshill and the reserves lost 4-1 at home to Studley Lions in the Minor Charity Cup first round.
