Holders ease into Bluck Cup quarters

HOLDERS Strawberry Field United moved into the last eight of the Bluck Cup with a hard-earned 3-1 win over Bredon in the Evesham Sunday League.

Joshua Rogers (2) and an own goal accounted for their goals, with Jordan Huggins scoring for Bredon.

Dragons also progressed with an excellent 6-2 win over higher graded Stratford HGC thanks to goals coming from Alex Lane (2), Jack Pilling (2), Rob Burford and Tom Donnison.

Inkberrow defeated TDMS Harvington for a second week running to reach the last four in the PURR Home Services KO Cup,




Alex Griffiths, Harry Emblem and Codie Walker sealed Inkberrow’s 3-2 success, while Luke Woodfield and Kodi Sallis netted for Harvington.

Also through are Bretforton Sports Club following a comfortable 6-2 win over second division side Drakes Broughton Rangers. Sports Club’s scorers were Ciaran Gilbert (2), George Kirby (2), Mike Jennings and Will Gayton, whilst Charlie Barrett and Jack Dowdswell replied for Rangers.


Evesham Sunday League teams suffered mixed fortunes in the Gloucestershire FA County Cups.

Mickleton Rangers were well beaten in the Premier Cup at Churchdown Parish, losing 9-0, whilst a hat-trick from Jake Petitt helped Alderman United defeat Stonehouse Town 8-3 in the Minor Cup.

Two first half goals from Robbie Sone and Phil Davis set Bretforton Old Boys on the way to a vital 2-1 Division One win at rivals Evesham WMC who pulled a goal back through Dominic Hartland.

Goals from Stuart Davis (2) and Jake Hall earned Offenham Rovers a 3-0 win at Alderton, while New Inn Pershore and Broadway United shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw. Luke Francum scored for New Inn and Jamie Hicks replied for Broadway.

Ashton 88 maintained their promotion push in Division Two with a 5-3 victory at TDMS Evesham thanks to goals from Will Stevens (2), Josh Keen (2) and Gary Dyke. TDMS replied through Jack Howard-Nailor, Tom Dixon and Harrison Middleton.

The local derby at Cropthorne against visitors Fladbury finished 1-1, as the home side scored through Leon Williams and Sean Payne was on target for Fladbury.

In Division Three, Vale United came from two down to win 3-2 at Ashton 88 Reserves. Ben Homans and Adam Draper scored to put the home team in front before goals from Joshua Grice (2) and David Stayt turned the game around.

Goals from Alex Gregg, Elliott Wright and Tom Grace led Stour Excelsior Reserves to a 3-2 victory over Fortis, for whom Ashleigh Booth scored twice.
