PERSHORE Town manager Danny Janes has announced he will be stepping back from front line managerial duties next season.
The Plums boss has taken the decision to complete his master’s degree to further his career and needs to allocate time to complete his studies.
He will continue to help with the club’s coaching strategy, scouting and the cementing of the football philosophy to ensure it’s continued success on and off the field.
In a statement, the club said: “The committee players and supporters want to thank Danny for two tremendous seasons and look forward to his continued input into the football club.”
Writing in an open letter to the fans, Janes revealed his decision was ‘a difficult one to make but one I feel is the right one’.
“I will be using the time away from the game to reflect, refine and develop my own practice. At such a young age in terms of management, it is important that I continue my learning journey and have the flexibility with my time to really implement that process.
“I am looking at potentially completing my Masters Degree, further Coaching Qualifications and self-reflecting on the journey so far. I want to critique myself and ensure that when I do return to management, if that opportunity arrives, I am the best version of myself.
“Pershore Town has always meant a lot to me and I look forward to supporting the team and seeing the club continue to grow. Thank you to my unbelievable Management Team, the Players, the Committee and those special behind people behind the scenes.
