EVESHAM’S North Midlands Shield hopes were ended at the semi-final stage as they were beaten 12-5 at Old Saltleians on Saturday.
Despite being in a Midlands Two West (North) relegation battle, the hosts proved too strong on the day for an Evesham side who were not at their best and the Water Orton side will go on to face either Whitchurch, Edwardians or Malvern in May’s final.
Evesham, fifth in Midlands Two West (South), face a daunting challenge on Saturday when they visit leaders Droitwich who have won all 16 league games and could clinch promotion with victory this weekend.
