Dragons breathe fire into season

ANOTHER round of Evesham Sunday League fixtures was badly affected by wet weather.

Of the matches which survived, Division Three’s Dragons picked up a valuable three points by defeating Stour Excelsior Reserves 3-2 as Thomas Donnison, Alex Lane and Adam Hinchcliffe scored for Dragons and Tobias Kemp and Nick Shurmer netted for Stour.

Ashton 88 Reserves won 4-1 at Bengeworth through goals from Lewis Carter (2), Bradley Mason and Josh Keen, with Bengeworth’s goal coming from Ashleigh Addlington.

Alderman United reached the last eight of the PURR Home Services Knockout Cup with a 5-2 victory over Stratford HGC in which Jake Pettitt (3), Ryan Paddock and Jamie Goodwin scored for the Tewkesbury side.




In Division Two, Stour Excelsior produced their best performance of the season to defeat Cropthorne 5-0 with goals from Edward Caswell (3), Jamie Haines and Josh Gibbs.

Strawberry Field United won 2-1 at TDMS Evesham where Ashton Welland and Connor Sherry scored for Strawberry and Harrison Middleton struck for TDMS Evesham.


First division side Evesham WMC comfortably won 8-2 at Offenham Rovers as Elliott Grady led the way with five goals and Sam Ford (2) and Dom Hartland also scored. Rovers replied through Jake Hall and an own goal.

Inkberrow maintained their title hopes by winning 3-1 at Alderton with goals from Alex Griffiths (2) and Alex Bullock. Alderton scored through Harry Davies.
