LINDA Carruthers and Liz Smith showed impressive form to claim first place in the penultimate round of the Ladies Winter League at Broadway GC.
Despite the chilly weather, the sun made a welcome appearance during the 16 holes of the greensomes competition for the fifth round.
Carruthers and Smith led the way with a superb 32 points, with Jayne Rose and Jenny Buchan were close behind on 30 points.
Janet Sanders and June Griffin were third with 29.
The teams can now look forward to competing in the final betterball round later this month.
