BROADWAY Golf Club ladies duo Linda Carruthers and Lin Andrew continued their Daily Mail Foursomes national campaign when they defeated local rivals Evesham 5-3 in the first round.
The Broadway pair were among 190,000 other players across the country who competed in club qualifiers in September last year and, following their success against their team-mates, their next challenge was to take on visitors Evesham.
The game was tight and some superb golf was played by both sides but the home team made light work of the testing conditions to progress into the second round, for which the draw will be made later this month.
