EVESHAM were beaten for the seventh time in eight Midlands Two West (South) matches as visitors Barkers Butts eased to a 21-5 success on Saturday.
The Vale side remain ninth despite the defeat but are now just five points above the bottom two with nine matches remaining, the first of which is the trip to fourth-placed Earlsdon a week on Saturday.
In a below-par display, Evesham’s only points arrived in the last five minutes of the game with an unconverted try from Dan Humpston.
Evesham will be in action at Camp Hill on Saturday in the North Midlands Shield semi-final, seeking revenge over the Shirley side who knocked them out of the National Intermediate Cup earlier this season.
The winners will face Kidderminster or Ludlow in the final.
