LABOUR’s four candidates in Evesham for the County Council elections on May 6 have pledged to publish their voting records should they be elected to serve at County Hall.
Helen Russell (Evesham North West), Mary Campbell (The Littletons), Richard Hales (Broadway) and the newly selected Andrew Bevan (Harvington) have all committed to sharing how they voted in a bid to ensure openness and accountability.
The candidates are all committed to holding regular surgeries to listen to residents, respond promptly to residents’ enquiries and requests, keep people informed about their own and the Labour Group’s work, through newsletters and social media and guide and support residents to have greater input into council meetings.
All four have invited residents to a virtual ‘drop-in’ event on Thursday, April 8 from 7.30pm to 8.30pm.
Ms Russell said: “All too often people don’t hear from their councillor or even know who they are. This event is a first step in fulfilling our pledge to be accessible and accountable to residents.’
