Victim of A46 crash near Beckford named

A PEDESTRIAN who died in a fatal collision on the A46 in Beckford near Evesham has been named

West Mercia Police were called at 6.45am on Tuesday (June 25) to a collision on the Cheltenham Road near Beckford, between a silver Vauxhall Vectra and a pedestrian who was tending to his DAF flatbed lorry.

It’s believed the Vectra had been travelling towards Evesham.

56-year-old Graham Edmunds from Gloucestershire, died at the scene, his next of kin has been informed.




Road closures were in place whilst emergency services were in attendance.

A 23-year-old woman from Coventry has been arrested on suspicion of death by dangerous driving. She is currently in police custody.


Investigating officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or the manner in which the Vauxhall Vectra was being driven prior to the collision.
