Town Tesco gets a defibrillator

STAFF at Evesham’s Tesco superstore have installed a defibrillator for the community to use in case of an emergency.

The life-saving medical equipment, which is a common treatment for heart attacks, has recently been put on display in the Worcester Road store, where it can be used by anyone and no training is needed as it has a step by step guide on it.

Each Tesco store across the UK has recently installed a defibrillator and it is just one of just three available to the community in the town.

Vicki Anderson, Evesham’s Community Champion said: “Anyone can use the defibrillator and it’s near the entrance so you don’t have to come right in store to get it.

“We have a lot of shops close by and with only a few other defibrillators in the town centre, it’s good to know it’s always there if needed. It can only be used once, so in the unfortunate event it’s used, we’ll replace it immediately.”
