Town firms’ footy match to raise funds for family

CARING staff at two Pershore firms will take to the pitch in memory of a popular Evesham father who died on his way to work.

Tomasz Kormicka died on July 9 after his Yamaha motorbike was involved in a collision with a VW Touran on the A44 at the Salters Lane junction in Lower Moor, Pershore.

The 41-year-old was on his way to work at Severn Waste Services when the crash happened and was pronounced dead at the scene.

He leaves behind a wife Agata, and two children aged six and eight. Family friend Marcin Fuja was inspired to set up a Go Fund Me page in his memory which has already raised more than £12,000 for Tomasz’s family.

Agata is fighting cancer, a glioblastoma multiform tumor, and has already struggled with it for the past few years.

In support of the fund-raising Pershore firms Wrubble Ltd and DolphinTec will host the match of the day on September 10 at Pershore Town FC.

The two local firms will field a team each and battle it out on the pitch from 7pm and doors will open at 5.30pm.

Phil Williams, director at Wrubble, said: “We wanted to do something to support Tomasz’s family and asked DolphinTec to join us in fund-raising for them. Hopefully the local community will come together to donate prizes and support us all on the night.”

Lewis Dolphin, director and team rivals at DolphinTec, added: “It’s a great idea and our team are up for the challenge – we won’t make it easy for Wrubble but we will do our best to raise as much money as possible for the family.”

The local firms will be raising money by charging £2.50 entry to the match and fund-raising via a rafffle – prizes and pledges will be gratefully received.

Raffle tickets can be bought in advance and on the night from Pershore Town FC and prizes can also be donated directly to the club.
