Tireless fund-raisers celebrate hospice cash

Evesham Editorial 27th May, 2018   0

A TIRELESS team of Evesham fund-raisers have paid tribute to all those have donated to their campaign to collect cash for St Richard’s Hospice.

Team WTF? Where’s the Finish thanked everyone who contributed and supported their fish and chip bingo night raising money for the vital south Worcestershire lifeline.

Money raised on the night took their total to more than £1,300 and further donations has seen the amount now rise to more than £1,500.

This year marked the fifth year of the team taking part in a 45 mile challenge of rowing, walking and cycling to raise money for the cause.

This year has been even more important to the whole team to raise as much as we can as one of our team members and friend unfortunately couldn’t take part after being diagnosed with incurable lung cancer.

Sara Wild from Team WTF? said: “Lucy Payne has now been using this great hospice so to continue helping this charity it is even more important to us now.

“We have had so much support from local businesses from beauty vouchers, restaurant vouchers, cake donations, hair vouchers and so many more.

“We’ve had fantastic service from both Hampton Chippy and Monicas Chippy supplying us with the food for more than 120 guests.

“We are totally overwhelmed by the support we have received,” she added.

The kind-hearted fund-raisers have vowed to carry on collecting the cash and to raise even more money.

Sara and Kate Thomson will be having their hair shaved off in the Riverside Shopping Centre on Saturday, June 23 at 12.30pm.
