Something to Think About

Evesham Editorial 6th Mar, 2022   0

RECENTLY a friend made and painted a Station Name Sign for the model railway in my garden.

I attached it to the front of the Summer House which doubles as the Station Masters Office.

Stepping back to admire it, the sign seemed to be fixed at an angle against the roof of the building, but placing the spirit level on top of the sign, it was perfectly level. The roof is the part which is not straight.

It is a true optical illusion at first glance.

There are many times in life when things may seem out of line and not true, but on closer examination they are proved to be correct.

It is often said that life has its ups and downs and therefore we do not always see the truth until sometime later.

During the last months, it may be that our lives have been like that, not seeing things as they really are.

In the Gospels we read of many occasions when Jesus Christ did and said things which on the surface did not seem possible or true but as we read on in the stories we see the absolute truth of the words and actions.

Through Jesus, His Son, God wants to be there to make sure that anything which appears to be “an optical illusion” can be made clear to us so that we can see the reality of the situations facing us.
