Something to Think About

Evesham Editorial 18th Jan, 2022   0

LAST weekend was the third round proper of the FA Cup when the larger clubs joined in.

It has got to be the greatest cup competition in the world when the ‘minnows’ have a chance to play against the more experienced sides with the opportunity for ‘cup glory’.

Once again, last week, this happened with some ‘non league’ clubs causing major upsets against their ‘multi million pound’ opponents.

When the New Year and Queen’s Birthday Honours Lists come out, it is always refreshing to see those names who are not famous but who are people who have quietly contributed so much to their communities.

In the Bible we read of so many people who are ‘seemingly nobodies’ but God uses them in wonderful ways. Some are only named once, whilst others are not named at all, but they have been useful to God by blessing the communities in which they live.

Often, we can feel in our lives, like those ‘minnows’ battling on through life, but as we commit ourselves to the Lord Jesus Christ, we can become useful to God and to those in our own environment or with whom we share our daily lives.
