Something to Think About

Evesham Editorial 8th Nov, 2021   0

THIS week I have been working on my model garden railway in preparation for our annual Charity Santa Specials at the end of November.

When we downsized fourteen years ago the railway became a quarter of its original size and was laid out on a ‘table’ approx three feet high instead of being on the ground, as my knees were getting old.

The trains run around the ‘Urban’ side and then round the back of the Summer House to the ‘Rural’ side and then return again.

I have been to visit numerous Garden Railways and seen various point problems’ or ‘power failures’ occur during the operations, mostly in the most awkward of places.

After running well for over an hour, this week, my railway decided to have a ‘power failure’ and the problem was on the track in the most inaccessible place behind the Summer House.

You may ask, “Why build it with pressure points in awkward places”? The answer is, for ease of construction at the time.

So often in life we do things for ease, but eventually we come to realise that it was not the best thing to do and we need professional help to sort the problem out.

The Bible tells us of many people who made decisions which they came to regret in later life but found that by turning to God,

He helped them to overcome the difficulties and heartache. Ask God, through His Son Jesus Christ, for His help, and He will.
