Something to Think About

Evesham Editorial 15th Aug, 2021   0

IN BETWEEN training and competing, diving ace Tom Daly could be seen at the Olympic poolside, busy knitting a team GB cardigan.

He wanted people who liked his knitting to give to the Brain Tumour Charity, which he has supported since the death of his father.

Watching sports like cricket and tennis on the TV one often sees ladies, in the crowd sitting busily knitting.

A number of years ago a group of ladies in the Northeast of England decided to knit a model of the Last Supper, from the Bible, for their church’s Easter celebration.

The Knitted Bible, as it is now known has grown with over 30 different scenes, has toured the UK delighting those interested in crafts and brings a joy to children viewing the tiny animals.

It is well worth seeing and will be on show at St. James Church, Badsey from Saturday 14th to Sunday 22nd of August 2021.

The exhibition is open daily from 11am to 4pm and entrance is free with refreshments on sale with proceeds going to charity.

It certainly brings the various scenes from both the Old and the New Testaments to life and vividly helps us to understand the Bible stories that are portrayed.

We can read the Bible stories which sometimes seem hard to understand but viewing this exhibition will help the viewer to appreciate what really did happen in each of the circumstances.
