HOW do you go from absolute expectation to utter disappointment in two hours?
This happened if you watched the England Football Team in the Final of the Euro 2020 Competition.
I am an England fan through and through, whatever the sport, but unfortunately last Sunday Evening was so disappointing and heart breaking, not only for the players but for the millions of fans who were watching.
The players had done their country proud, but the last hurdle became one too many.
They will bounce back and hopefully will do so much better at the World Cup next year.
They must now pick themselves up and look forward with hope and anticipation to the future, not only for their country but for their clubs also.
Whoever we are, disappointments are always hard to bear, but we need to be able to overcome them and move on.
The followers of Jesus Christ were absolutely devastated when he was killed on the cross and they honestly thought that all was lost and there was to be no future for them.
But after the Resurrection, the darkness changed to a real expectation that the future was bright and good, although there would still be pitfalls on the way.
The past sixteen months of the Covid outbreak have been extremely hard and difficult for us all, but we must look forward to a bright future as we invite Jesus Christ into our lives as our Lord and Saviour.
