FOR MANY years my in laws lived in Ebrington near Chipping Campden and when visiting them we would pass near to Kiftsgate Court Gardens and my wife and I always said we would visit there one day.
Well after something like 40 years we decided to visit the gardens last Tuesday to celebrate my birthday and we had a wonderful time with a nice cream tea. Of course we have now said we should go again in the not too distant future.
No doubt most of us at some time or another have wanted to do something or visit a certain place but have never actually done so, but now may be the right time.
In the Gospels we read of a man called Zacchaeus who so wanted to see Jesus but he was afraid of being seen because he was an unscrupulous tax collector who was despised by the people.
He climbed up a tree hoping to see Jesus but not to be seen. Jesus knew which tree Zacchaeus was up and stopped and called him down, as he wanted to go to his house to share the good news of God’s Love with him. Zacchaeus became a reformed character and a follower of the Lord.
Jesus knew all about Zacchaeus and he knows our needs too.
We don’t have to climb a tree to see Jesus, we can just simply lift up a prayer to him and he will hear us.
