Something to Think About

Evesham Editorial 28th Jun, 2020   0

‘LOOK at this’, exclaimed my wife as she opened a tin of top brand Scottish shortbread.

The tin was the same size as the one we had bought twelve months ago but the size and number of biscuits were so much smaller.

So many items we purchase these days have the same size packaging but the actual contents are certainly not as big or as many as previously.

Unless we really look closely at the nett weight it is so easy not to realise that the price is the same but the quantity is so much less, meaning we need to buy more.

It would be better for the manufacturers to be honest and if they are making the products smaller then the packaging should be made to match, meaning there will be less landfill waste.

Jesus was criticised because he did not conform to the style of the religious leaders of his day; however he was what he said he was and showed that in his ministry to all those he came into contact with.

The same simple gospel message is brought to us today, a message of salvation and peace from God through His Son, Jesus Christ.

What a comfort and reassurance for this difficult and uncertain time of Covid-19.
