A TRIP down memory lane has been offered by Pershore Library with a photo exhibition to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the First World War.

The rare photo collection was put on display last Friday (August 21) to invite the town’s residents to see if they can recognise picture’s of people and places from the past century.

Lyn-Marie MacRae, library staff member said: “The photo collection was organised by Helen Faizey who hoped the pictures would spark interest among the people of Pershore.

“The idea is to find clues and links to the people and places in the photos and to allow visitors to reconnect with the past.”

Pershore Library will be holding its final commemoration to the First World War on October, 3, when residents will be invited to hear some of the town’s war stories.

The library will also be opening on Bank Holiday Monday (August 31) from 10am to 4pm, to contribute to the town’s Plum Festival.
