Residents urged to help tidy up the town this weekend

Evesham Editorial 3rd Mar, 2017 Updated: 3rd Mar, 2017   0

EVESHAM residents are being urged to help clean up the town this weekend by taking part in a series of litter picks.

It’s all part of the national campaign, The Great British Spring Clean, which aims to bring together communities to rid the streets of unwanted litter and rubbish.

The first litter pick takes place tomorrow (Saturday) from 11am at the junction of Rynal Street and Leicester Grove which is being led by the Town Plan Anti-Litter Group.

Then on Sunday (March 5) a second litter pick, organised by Evesham Town Council, is taking place at 10am with residents invited to meet at the Town Hall.

After Sunday’s litter pick tea and cakes will be served up at 12 noon at the Town Hall provided by the Town Council as a thank you to the volunteers who took part.

Litter picking equipment will be provided at both events and anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

For further details contact the Town Clerk, Stuart Carter, on 01386 443322.
