A PERSHORE school has reached their £4,000 fund-raising target for a new outdoor canopy after a donation from a local housing developer.

Taylor Wimpey, who are currently building the Mirabelle Gardens development, donated £750 to Abbey Park First and Nursery School’s appeal which has now enabled the school to go ahead and purchase the outdoor canopy.

The equipment will now enable the pupils from the Abbey Park Pre-School, which relies on donations and fund-raising to operate, to play outdoors all year round.

Sue Jennings, manager of Abbey Park Pre-School, said: “On behalf of the pupils, parents and staff at the pre-school, I’d like to say a big thank you to Taylor Wimpey for providing this generous donation towards our fundraising initiative.

“We’re passionate about providing the children with a versatile learning environment and a space where they can stay active, so we’re very pleased that this donation has enabled us to go ahead with the purchase of the new outdoor canopy.”

Anne Wallace, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey Midlands, added: “We are proud to be supporting the pre-school at Abbey Park First and Nursery School by providing a donation towards the funds for its new outdoor canopy.

“We delighted our donation has enabled the school to reach its goal and hope the children all enjoy playing and learning under the new shelter.”
