STAFF and pupils at Pershore High School welcomed the town’s MP for a tour around the school’s new humanities block.
Harriett Baldwin was given a tour of the new building by Pershore High School headteacher Clive Corbett and the school’s business manager Russell Dalton during a visit last Friday (March 18).
The new classrooms are part of a £3.4million project to improve facilities at the school.
Mrs Baldwin said: “Only a couple of years ago I joined Clive and Russell to start the demolition process on the antiquated teaching block and it is a huge pleasure to see this project come to completion.
“The new facilities are stunning and I look forward to seeing them in use during the summer term.
“I was pleased that Clive asked me to support the school’s bid to secure funding and the Government investment is sure to reap dividends for generations of students to come.”
Mr Corbett, said: “All associated with Pershore High School are delighted that the second phase of our building development is nearing completion.
“Students will first use the new Humanities building on April 12 and it is a fantastic addition to the art block that Harriett Baldwin opened in the autumn.
“I am very grateful to Harriett for her on-going support of the school,” he added.
