A CLAMP down on illegal waste disposal and traffic offences took place in Throckmorton.

The multi-agency Local Resilience operation, led by West Mercia Police and the Environment Agency, began today (Friday).

It was launched after a number of reports concerning illegal waste disposal and traffic offences in the village.

As a result of the operation a 33-year-old woman has been reported for summons.

Hereford and Worcester Fire Service, Wychavon District Council, Trading Standards, Central Motorway Patrol Group, Safer Roads Partnership, Animal Welfare and officers from the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency also supported the operation.

The chair of the Local Resilience Forum (LRF), Superintendent Kevin Purcell, said: “West Mercia Police have been working in partnership with the Environment Agency in relation to concerns which have been raised by the local Throckmorton community.

“An investigation is underway in regards to these issues and anyone with information is asked to come forward to police.”

Anyone with information is urged to call the police on 101. Alternatively, information can be passed on anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their website.
