PERSHORE’S community arts centre is celebrating its 20th anniversary this December.
Number 8 is set to celebrate its milestone anniversary at the end of the year, marking two decades since the art centre’s first public event on Saturday, December 4 2004.
The opening night was Showstoppers! by Pershore Operatic and Dramatic Society (PODS). The opening came at the end of years of fundraising and campaigning by local people to develop an arts centre in Pershore.
Now, twenty years on, the organisation will be marking its anniversary with a special celebratory event for volunteers, subscribers to Number 8’s Friends membership scheme, and invited guests on Thursday 5 December.
Guests will be treated to the premier screening of a short film about Number 8, a presentation featuring highlights from the centre’s history and plans for the future.
There will also be performances from their resident company PODS and dancers from their popular Chance to Dance classes.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to mingle at a Drinks Reception and toast to the centre’s continuing success.
Number 8’s chair of trustees Tony Rowley said: “We felt it was important to mark our 20th anniversary and thank all of those that have contributed to the centre’s development and play a part in the centre’s continuing success.
“This is a great opportunity to reflect on all that has been achieved and look forward to continuing success in the future.”
