Music and charity in harmony

Evesham Editorial 25th Jan, 2019   0

A TEENAGE Vale fund-raiser has sung the praises of an all-male Pershore chorus for their cash collecting efforts in aid of Pancreatic Cancer UK.

Kiaragh Brown from Sheriff’s Lench and a UK youth ambassador for the charity, received £500 from the Vale Harmony Barbershop Chorus to help fund research into a cure for pancreatic cancer.

The Vale Harmony chorus raised the money with performances at Worcester’s Victorian Fayre and a Rotary club national convention at the Three Counties Showground.

Kiaragh, Evesham’s current Young Musician of the Year, joined the men at their rehearsal at the St Andrews Centre and sang ‘Is This the Way to Amarillo’ with them.

“Music is something that brings people together and sheds light on such dark situations as pancreatic cancer. I am so thankful to Vale Harmony for using their music to communicate and bring joy to others, from both the music itself as well as their fantastic fund raising efforts,” the 13-year-old said.
