Evesham Editorial 2nd May, 2019   0

A MAN was threatened with a screwdriver and a hammer during an attempted robbery in Evesham in the early hours of the morning.

Witnesses are being sought in connection with the incident which happened at a property in Woodland Piece between 4.30am and 6am on Wednesday, April 17.

Three suspects are understood to have attempted to take two Yamaha motorbikes from a garage.

When the occupant of the house came outside to challenge them, the suspects were verbally abusive and threw what is thought to be a screwdriver at him.

The man followed the group but one of them is then alleged to have then threatened him with a hammer. The victim was uninjured but left shaken up by the incident but no items were stolen.

The suspects are believed to have left in the direction of the adventure playground located near Woodlands.

Enquiries are currently ongoing but officers are keen to speak to the individuals pictured as they believe they may have information that could help with the investigation.

They would also like anyone who walks their dog in that area, who witnessed the incident, or who saw anyone acting suspiciously at the time to come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to call West Mercia Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting incident number 57S of 17 April.
