A MAN in his 40s was stabbed in a suspected assault on Castle Street last night (Sunday)
The victim was walking with two women towards Port Street when a verbal altercation is understood to have taken place.
He is then reported to have been assaulted and suffered a stab wound to the leg and back of his neck. After being treated at the scene by paramedics, he was taken to hospital but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening at this time.
A 41-year-old man from Evesham has been arrested on suspicion of assault GBH and remains in custody.
Enquiries are currently ongoing but police would like anyone who saw the incident, or who was in the area at the time to come forward.
