VALE residents are being urged to make sure they are registered to vote for the upcoming General Election before the deadline closes in less than two weeks time.
The deadline for registration is Monday, May 22 and anyone who has not applied by that date will lose their right to have their say in who becomes the next MP for Mid Worcestershire and West Worcestershire when the nation heads to the polls on Thursday, June 8.
It only takes a couple of minutes to vote and to do so visit www.gov.uk/register-to-vote to-vote, or call the Electoral Services team at Wychavon District Council on 01386 565437 or email [email protected].
Also, anyone who wants to vote by vote must submit their application by 5pm on Tuesday, May 23. Residents also planning to vote by proxy have until Wednesday, May 31 to submit their completed application.
Elaine Dicks, Electoral Services Manager for Wychavon District Council, said: “Anyone not yet registered to vote should do so as soon as possible in order for them to be able to have their say on issues that affect their lives by voting on 8 June.
“With the introduction of online registration it is now easier than ever to make sure you are registered in time.”
