LADIES from different tennis clubs across the Vale served up a fund-raising rally at Pershore Tennis Centre to support Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven

After a break due to Covid, 36 ladies returned to the courts all dressed in pink to support and raised £600 for the local charity in its sixth annual event.

The Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven (WBUH) is the local breast cancer charity, raising funds for the women and men of Worcestershire and their breast care needs.

Jane Warner, tournament director at Pershore Tennis Centre said: “It was so exciting to be able to return to some form of normality in hosting a tennis tournament, and even better to be raising much needed funds for the charity.

“We had some fantastic members who helped on the day, ensuring all players moved around as little as possible.

Fiona Charny, chair of the trustees for Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven added: “Pershore Tennis Centre is now in its sixth year of fund-raising for us, and we are very honoured that the club should be so loyal and dedicated to supporting our charity.

“We know that our work as Worcestershire’s only breast cancer charity resonates considerably with many of their members who have been directly or closely affected by breast cancer, and this is the committee and members continuing to support us.

“Everyone here at Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven is incredibly grateful for funds that the club has raised for us over the past six years.
