HEALTH chiefs have once again repeated their pleas for people to use their local Minor Injury Units to help ease pressure on emergency departments
Accident and Emergency at the Worcestershire Royal or the Alex in Redditch should only be used in life-threatening or emergency situations.
Minor Injury Units (MIUs) offer advice and treatment for a variety of injuries including cuts, grazes, wounds, sprains, minor eye injuries, strains and minor burns.
Worcestershire offers several MIU to local people which can be found via the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust website.
Waiting times in MIUs are much shorter than A&E which should only be used for emergency or life-threatening conditions.
A recent MIU visitor said: “The service was exceptional. From parking the car to getting back in the car we were less than half an hour. The nurses were lovely, and super-efficient.”
