Pancake Day is here and that means only one thing this Shrove Tuesday (March 1)
Tonight’s the night to indulge in some delicious fluffy pancakes – and we’ve got a recipe for even the average flipper to master the perfect pancake.
Even better, you’ll need just five ingredients – which are probably already in your cupboards.
No matter your topping or filling favourites, this recipe from Anthony Barnes, the executive chef at Cardiff’s Marriott Hotel will see you through Pancake Day
How to make the perfect pancake batter
Ingredients
2 eggs
100g plain flour
300ml milk
1 tsp vegetable oil
Pinch of salt
Method
Lightly whisk the two eggs
Sieve the flour into a bowl and make a well in the middle
Add the salt and oil to the well
Pour the whisked eggs into the flour
Add half of the milk
Mix well then add the rest of the milk
Warm your pan up on the hob
Add a little oil and tip away any excess
Pour a spoonful of the batter mixture into the pan and fry for a few seconds
Flip it and fry for a few seconds on the other side
Enjoy!
