Happy day dries up the rainy spell

THE WET WEATHER which brought a sudden end to the heatwave did not dampen the spirits of those who attended the Hampton Ferry which this year celebrated its 10th anniversary.

Due to the gusting winds certain attractions had to be cancelled but there was still much on offer for those who came along to enjoy the show.

Charity stalls raised money for such worthy causes as Evesham Adventure Playground, Evesham and District Mental Health Support Services and Pancreatic Cancer Action while others offered a variety of ideas such a gifts from local crafters.

The popular dog show was run by Evesham Dogs Trust which included a paddling pool for the four-legged friends.

With swing boats, sidestalls, the Smoothie Bike challenge, circus skills, Lizzie’s Busy Bus and the Sports Challenge coaches there was plenty for kids and adults to choose from.

Entertainment was provided by Avonbank Brass Bank, Eve Lyn and Madi, Betsy Harmony and a highlight of the day was the brilliant performance put on by Circus Kaos who kept everyone thoroughly entertained.

Organiser Fran Webb said: “Although we had a damp start it was dry for the duration of the show and the sun came out in the afternoon. It was a happy day and the community spirit was awesome as those committed to the show never gave up and for that I thank them.”
