A FLOOD alert remains in force for the River Avon.
The Environment Agency issued the flood alert yesterday evening (Friday) and will remain in place until Sunday (March 5).
It’s expected the river level in Evesham will peak at between 1.7 and 2 metres tomorrow. At 8.30am this morning the level at the Evesham gauge stood at 1.19 metres and was rising slowly.
The river level has risen from 0.87 metres since 3.30pm yesterday afternoon.
The flood alert has been issued due to the rainfall over the past couple of days, but according to the Met Office its not expected to rain today (Saturday).
However, heavy rain showers have been forecast for Sunday.
