AN EVESHAM superstore has raised more than £600 for three charities by turning its staff pink.

Tesco held its ‘Tesco Turns Pink’ event last month as a contribution to the town’s Relay For Life team, where all proceedings went to Diabetes UK, British Heart Foundation and Cancer Research UK.

The Worcester Road store announced it raised £608 from the event which was designed to bring the Vale community together through a variety of activities.

The fun day had a raffle, tombola, market stalls, bouncy castle and staff got the chance to gunge their managers who were locked in the stocks.

Hampton Farm Shop was also on hand in the store’s car park along with an ice cream van to keep visitors refreshed throughout the day.

Evesham’s Tesco Community Champion, Vicki Anderson said: “There was something for everyone as we had lots going on for people of all ages.

“There were games for both children and adults, who had a fun day out raising funds for fantastic charities.

“Our aim is to put something back into the community, and these special events with the support of the public allow us to do so.”
