EVESHAM’S famous Asparafest is in contention of being named the ‘Best Worcestershire Festival’ 2017.

The popular festival, held at Ashdown Farm in Badsey, is now in its fifth year and has been announced as a finalist at this year’s What’s On Readers’ Awards.

Asparafest is up against four other festivals from across Worcestershire who are in with a chance of winning the title, including the Bromsgrove Folk Festival, Malvern Food Festival, Worcester Music Festival and the Upton upon Severn Jazz Festival.

The festival returns this June and will feature live music, a cookery stage, CBeebies’ Mr Bloom, an Asparalympics, vintage and classic vehicle displays, craft and food stalls and much more.

Speaking to the Observer, Festival Director Tash Bailey said: “We’re delighted to be finalists, huge thanks to our festival goers who have voted for us.

“Asparafest is a little bit of quirky magic in the Vale, and it’s great to celebrate our famous ‘Gras with so many others every June.

“2017 will be the 5th Asparafest and our Super Earlybird Tier one tickets have already sold out, three months earlier than last year, it’ll be asapara-tastic!”
