AN EVESHAM poet is donating the proceeds from the sale of his new book to Worcestershire Wildlife Trust.
Bob Woodroofe, who is born and bred in the Vale of Evesham will donate the profits from his latest poetry anthology, A Wild Life in Worcestershire.
The 78-page paperback book contains 50 poems. Discussing the book, Bob Woodroofe said: “The poems in this collection were all inspired by encounters withthe flora & fauna of our county. Still there for you to find if you stop and look.”
According to local poetry workshop, Chapter and Verse, the self-published poet is scientifically trained and now retired after a career in engineering, computing and the environmental field. His poems have appeared in many poetry magazines and are performed at various local venues.
He is inspired by the natural world, the landscape and its ancient mysteries. He is also intrigued by the crossover between art and science and attempts to bring the magic of nature and its restorative healing qualities to a wider audience.
Copies of A Wild Life in Worcestershire are available for £5. All proceeds from the sale of the book will be donated to Worcestershire Wildlife Trust.
On social media, a spokesperson for Worcestershire Wildlife Trust added: “Bob’s collection of poems celebrates Worcestershire’s wonderful wildlife. It’s out now and Bob is kindly donating all proceeds to the Trust.”
Bob has an extensive published collection of poetry centred around the Vale of Evesham from as early as his 1993 released Nature of the Vale. Other titles include Spirit of the Vale, Reflections of the Vale, Nature of the Vale, Another Lad of Evesham Vale, and A Town like Evesham.
