Evesham haulage firm to bid for expansion to secure future

A FAMILY-owned haulage firm has submitted plans to build a new distribution warehouse on a five-acre site on Vale Park.

R Sinclair Transport, currently based on Davies Road, handed in their proposals to Wychavon District Council last Friday (October 28) for an 80,000 sq ft brand new distribution warehouse with offices, together with a large yard and lorry wash.

The new base for the firm secures RST’s future in Evesham and its long-term operations by allowing it to expand.

The planning application for Vale Park will be decided on by planning chiefs alongside proposals for the current RST site to be redeveloped by Helical Retail, who have already submitted plans for a retail park – with a second Aldi store and TK Maxx already lined up.

If both schemes are approved, RST will remain at their current site on Davies Road until their new facility at Vale Park has been completed.

Sean Sinclair of RST, said: “We are committed to Evesham and really want to expand our business in the town, which was started by my father nearly 70 years ago but we can only make this move if it is funded through the proposed redevelopment of our current site at Four Pools.”

Robert Birch from Helical Retail, said: “Our scheme at Four Pools presents Evesham with a great opportunity to have a second Aldi store as well as TK Maxx, which would simply not be possible elsewhere in the town.

“We will also be delighted to have helped the RST family business to relocate to its new home at Vale Park.” he added.
